Career Choices in Materials Engineering
What Will I Do as a Materials Scientist?
Materials scientists use their training to develop materials with mechanical, electrical, chemical, magnetic, or biological properties that are optimized for a specific technological application. They find employment in every technological field ranging from the microelectronics industry (Intel, Motorola, IBM) to industries that require advanced structural materials such as aerospace (Martin-Marietta, Boeing, Rockwell) and automotive (Ford, GM).
