Research interests: My research focuses on understanding the factors that lead to varying outcomes in patients that undergo percutaneous coronary intervention, particularly with stenting. We have examined the role of several variables such as coronary artery collateral circulation, gender, and acute coronary syndromes. I am also interested in the development and use of large animal models to test interventional devices. We are currently using a stent based chronic coronary occlusion porcine model to develop technology to treat this difficult lesion subset.
