Yanfei Gao is currently an Assistant Professor in the Department of Materials Science and Engineering, University of Tennessee,  and also a joint research staff member in the Computer Science and Mathematics Division, Oak Ridge National Laboratory. He was a postdoctoral research associate advised by Prof. Kim and Prof. Bower in 2003-2005, working on micro- and nano-mechanics of contact plasticity.
