The goal of
this project is to develop and apply computer simulation
techniques to predict the influence of alloy composition
on dislocation motion in aluminum-magnesium alloys.
There are three current projects
1. Development
of hardening laws for single-crystal aluminum
(Kevin Boyle, Raj Mishra, Bill Curtin)
2. The
influence of grain interactions on deformation in
polycrystalline aluminum
(Kevin Boyle, Raj Mishra, Bill Curtin)
3. Numerical
simulations of tube hydroforming
(Kevin Boyle, Raj Mishra, Bill Curtin)
