5/4/05: Project talks will be given Monday, May 9, from 11:30am-1pm in room 092. Lunch will be provided. Reports are due at that time.

3/18/05: A sample exam is posted on the exams page. Wednesday's exam will be given in room 158. You can use your own lecture notes and homework.No printed, or xeroxed material will be allowed.

3/14/05:  There is a typo on problem 1g of Homework #5: The problem should read:

"Calculate the minimum weight Ww (not Wc) which will ensure that the wave speed c is greater than the top speed of the Acela, 150 mph."

in other words, find the counterweight needed to make sure the wavespeed of the cable is large enough. (the cable weight Wc is set by the span)

3/7/05: Exam 1 will be given  in class on Wednesday, March 23. The exam will deal with class material covered in Problem Sets 1- 5.

bullet2/18/05: Please turn in your homework to Ms. Stephanie Gesualdi on the 7th floor before 2pm today. Do not put it under my door! I will be in my office most of Monday and Tuesday of next week if you need anything. Have a good weekend!
bullet2/17/05: Juan Tello's office hours next week will be Wednesday, 2/23, and Thursday, 2/24, 8-9pm, in room 751. Note that the homework is due Friday of next week.

bullet2/10/05: Regarding office hours: I am available to you any time you need or want help with any aspect of the course. You may call or  email in advance if you want to reserve a time or be sure that I am here. The periods 11-1 on MWF are particularly good for me.
bullet2/04/05: Note: Since I didn't quite as far as i had planned in lecture, i have replaced the previously posted problem 3 of Problem Set 1 (new version), Due Wednesday, February 9, 2005 . If you have already done this problem, turn it in as it is and turn in  the two new problems (3 and 4) next week.
