ABET Outcomes:
Pursuant to the standards of the Accrediting Board for Engineering and Technology
(ABET) we list here the expectations for students in EN123: A student will
(1) Learn the mechanisms of action of sensors such as strain gauges, thermistors, and phototransistors.
(2) Understand analog to digital conversion and the sampling theorem, including aliasing of frequencies above the Nyquist limit.
(3) Be able to analyze a Wheatstone bridge with an instrumentation amplifier recording across two of its nodes.
(4) Use a DAQ card in a computer to acquire, store, analyze and display analog sensory data with a DAQ card, using software such as LabVIEW.
(5) Be able to design closed-loop systems for the control of parameters such as temperature, pressure and flow.
