The Division wishes to thank Al and Steve Petteruti for their generous gift to support Engineers Week.

Engineers Week, a formal coalition of more than 75 engineering, professional, and technical societies and more than 50 corporations and government agencies, was founded in 1951 by the National Society of Professional Engineers. Engineers Week raises public understanding and appreciation of engineers' contributions to society.  Our theme this year emphasizes how engineers can change the world.

We cordially invite all students, faculty, and staff to the following events:

What is the engineering behind photography?

Are you hoping to improve your photo skills with better framing and composition techniques?

Do you want to learn how to take a photo on manual control adjusting your own shutter speed and aperture?

Do you want to know what the best type of camera lens is for your favorite type of photography?

Photography, as an art, is about portraying to other people the beauty you see in things.

Good photography is intentional and deliberate.

Learn about how the camera operates to create good photography from Dean Gregory Crawford and Lauren Brennan.

The skills you learn should allow you to enter the 2007 Engineers Week Photo Competition to win!

Open to all students, faculty, and staff.

Email Lauren_Brennan@brown.edu with questions.
